Day Hikes: We have amazing 1-8 hour trails starting at the bottom of our garden, turn right at the viewpoint and descend into the forest, so it couldn’t be easier. This leads you to incredible waterfalls, mountain peaks and spectacular viewpoints. Drop into reception and our eager staff will give you a map to lead you safely through the forest.
A R10 permit fee is payable at reception with the proceeds going towards trail maintenance.
Mountain Biking in Hogsback is amongst some of the best in the country, and is host to the 3 day stage event – Lord of the Chain Rings. There are various tours in and around Hogsback. Tours take you to waterfalls, viewpoints and rivers and through the indigenous forests down awesome single track.
Rock Climbing there are 60 challenging routes bolted in the area all with amazing views. There is also a climb at the bottom of the garden and a quick abseil back down to do it all over again.
Abseiling: Down the amazing 35m Madonna & Child waterfall. An unbelievable experience.
Archery: Get your aim in and loose off some arrows.
Bird Watching: Hogsback is a bird watchers paradise. If you want more than to just spot the almost extinct Cape Parrot which flies over the backpackers daily, then there is a guide who will give you his local knowledge.
